It's really nice to see good quality apps come out for BlackBerry. And this app is shaping up to be a really nice one. Trillian for Blackberry is now available for public beta testing. What is Trillian you ask? Trillian has been available on the PC for a while now and is an all in one instant messenger app. It lets you have all your IM clients together in one tidy package. Add Facebook IM, GoogleTalk, AIM or many other popular IM clients to Trillian and you can keep them all orginized in one app.
I have been using this app for a few hours now and I have to say it works pretty well. The developers have decided to make the app available to the public to beta test. So be sure to visit the Trillian Forums to leave feedback to help improve the app. I am very impressed with this first version. I see Trillian becoming a popular app for BlackBerry users.

Earlier today we got some really nice pictures of the Blackberry Slider form the Chinese site BerryTimes. Well now they are giving us another little piece of BB heaven with a video of OS 6. This video is the best look we have got of OS 6 running on a BlackBerry device to date. Now before you get too excited, keep in mind that the video is narrated in Chinese. So unless you have been listening to your Rosetta Stone CDs, it might be hard to understand. But who cares right? It's OS 6, the OS we are all on the edge of our seats for. There is a lot to digest in this video. So go get you a cold beverage and sit back and enjoy the show!

Unless you have lived under a rock for the past few months you have probably heard about the BlackBerry slider. It's really been the big talk as of late. We are beginning to see more and more of the upcoming 9800 Bold. This morning some new photos emerged of the device. The new photos give us what could be considered the best looking pics so far of the 9800. Several (very clear and crisp) pics were provided by BerryTimes and shows a very detailed look at several different angles of the much anticipated device. But enough of my rambling, you want to see the photos, right?

Sprint users have had the Bold 9650 for a few weeks now. Verizon customers are just now getting to order the device today. Now everyone will have access to a 9650 .7xx build thanks to BBleaks. Yep, OS 5.0.0.732 is available to everyone. So get your USB cable out and load this leak. And be sure to let us know how it runs in the comment section below.

The leaks have been a little scarce as of late. Many users are getting restless. Not to worry, BBleaks has provided us with yet another leak. This time Pearl 3G users get a little leak love. BlackBerry Pearl OS 5.0.0.748 is available for device owners and hybrid builders. This is one of the highest builds we have seen to date. Should be interesting to see what hybrids will come out of this.

Keyboard device lovers rejoice! The much anticipated Verizon branded BlackBerry Bold 9650 is now here. It certainly has been a long time coming, but as previously rumored the 9650 was made available today from Big Red. VZW has been very quiet on the release of the CDMA Bold device. Not so much as a peep was made until today. It's really sad to see such a lack of interest from Verizon because this phone is really nice! With 512mb of memory, WiFi and a sexy new trackpad, this device is a substantial upgrade over its 9630 predecessor. What makes this device even better is that its BlackBerry OS 6 ready thanks to the upgraded memory.
So will you be making the jump to the new Bold? If so, let us know what you think of your new device.

Well here is another nice update to Google Maps. This time Google has bumped up the version number up to 4.2. Bicycle enthusiasts will find this update particularly useful as it now includes directions for bicycles, a feature that Android users already got last month. Aslo included is a new search results page and the ability to share locations through email, text and Facebook.

If you are a Google Maps user you will definitely want to grab this update. It's a nice update to an already great and useful app. You can download Google Maps 4.2 by visiting m.google.com/maps on your BlackBerry.

We have been waiting and waiting for word from Big Red on a 9650 release date. The Sprint launch came and went with not even a peep from VZW. While there is still no "official" word from Verizon about the CDMA Bold's release date, the BerryReporter got a screen shot that shows a June 3rd DFill date. If the above pic is correct then Verizon customers can call in or order on the web June 3rd. If you prefer doing it old school then it appears you can take a trip to your local Verizon retailer and pick one up in person on June 10th.
Why is Verizon not building up this device? The 9650 is a nice BlackBerry device, there is no doubting that. But it seems VZW is pulling the same thing that they did with the Storm 2 launch. Not a lot of publicity at all until post launch. Time will tell I guess. But if they are going to promote the device and if the above screen grab is true, they don't have much time left.

So this should finally make a lot of Verizon owners happy! Verizon is FINALLY training the staff on the new BlackBerry Bold 9650! Oh yes, that's right, it's about time too isn't it?
One of my spies sent me these pics showing the training material in action... and you can even see they are still only going with a 2GB Micro SD card for the storage. A little small, but better than nothing I guess! It may seem a little late in coming, but this is still a very nice device. Taking the chipset of the 9550, throwing in 512MB of memory and melding it with the super sexy trackpad from the 9700. It should keep the Verizon BlackBerry owners happy... until the Storm3 comes out... but that's a different story altogether! Anyway, no word quite yet on release date, but I hear it might be in the next week, two weeks at the most.
